The Serralunghesi origins of Luigi's family can be found on the maternal side of the geological tree with the Pira and Gagliasso families, while on the paternal side we find the Vico and Giacosa families, who have Roerine origins. Both branches have always been dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards and orchards.
The first information on the land properties of the Pira family in Serralunga dates back to the 1694 land registry of the municipality. The first evidence of the transcriptions of the notarial deeds relate to the end of the nineteenth century, which were subsequently the subject of family hereditary successions.
We work with the belief that winemaking must bring out the best characteristics of our terroir. We use cement tanks for fermentation and wood from the forest of Fontainebleau and Slavonia for our Barolos. For our other ranges of wines, where freshness and fruit are indispensable, vinification takes place in steel, and aging in barriques and tonneaux.
